The Voices of Participants and their Families

Noam, Jewish Israeli, 2007 camper
“We are 15 girls from different backgrounds. We sit almost every day in the dialogue room crying and trying to understand why the other side is saying terrible things about us. But I’m taking a big breath and trying to see their side. Now I feel like we are one big family. I never thought we could be so close but now I love these girls. I really appreciate the gift of understanding that I have received from Creativity for Peace.”

Laila, Palestinian living in Israel, 2007 camper
“This year at Creativity for Peace I had the most amazing experience of my whole life. It’s not just a camp, but a door that has opened my eyes to a whole new world where everything is possible, even peace for Palestinians and Israelis.”

Dina, Palestinian living in Palestine, 2007 camper
“To everybody reading my words I want to tell you how much this camp has helped me to change my mind and understand others. The best thing is that it taught me how to give and how to love.”

The mother of a Jewish Israeli camper, 2007
“I want to say so many things but words are empty and do not convey the gratitude and admiration I feel for the amazing work you are doing. My daughter retured home a different person, with faith in the goodness of life and the ability to see the good in others, and especially with the belief that people can change. She says, and I believe her, that her life before and after camp is not the same. In the name of my family, I thank you from the deepest place in my heart for being.”

Amira, Palestinian living in Palestine, 2007 young leader
“When we have to separate we are in tears because we are not permitted to see each other out of these meetings. Yet we have hope that we may be able to visit each other one day, without checkpoints and without the wall that separates friends from one other. I believe peace will come and that what we are doing at Creativity for Peace will help make this dream come true. We have had enough of living in fear and pain. We carry peace in our hearts and we go home and spread it to our friends and family. And then it will spread to the world.”

Adi, Jewish Israeli, 2007 young leader
“I want to thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to have such an amazing experience. The two years that I’ve been a part of this sacred organization have given me so much for my future life, even more than I can express in words. I think that every girl who comes to this camp leaves with something in her heart and that makes all the difference in the world.”
