Financial Overview

Creativity for Peace is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is a registered American nonprofit doing business in Israel.

Income

Creativity for Peace's income is derived exclusively from contributions by individuals, family and community foundations, and businesses. We raise our total operating budget each year.

In 2010, foundations constituted 66 percent and individuals 31 percent of our income. The balance came from corporations, income on investments, and miscellaneous sources.

In 2006, 147 unique contributors made gifts to the organization. By 2010, that number had grown to 540.

Expenses

Creativity for Peace's 2010 expenses totaled $487,000 and broke down approximately as follows:

  • Summer camp program: 40 percent
  • Middle East program: 35 percent
  • Administration: 15 percent
  • Fundraising: 5 percent
  • Academic scholarships: 3 percent

Summer Camp, New Mexico

  • All expenses for one camper for three weeks: $6,000
  • Staffing for one camp session: $26,000
  • Airfare for one session: $49,000
  • Vehicle expenses for one session: $3,700
  • Supplies for one session: $7,000
  • Total costs for one camp: $195,000

Middle East

  • Gatherings for one girl in the Middle East for one year: $1,500
  • Training for one young leader in the Middle East for one year: $2,500
  • Administration of Middle East program: $79,000
  • One gathering for 40 campers: $40,000
  • One young leader training session for 30 girls: $12,000
  • Academic scholarships for one year for four girls: $16,000
